Conflicts
Speaking of conflicts there was a big conflict earlier today. After weeks of begging my mother to bring home that nice ice that geno's makes she finally brought some home today. The problem is that it wouldn't fit in out crappy freezer. The solution to the problem was that i helped move things around to get the ice to fit. In other news i'm starting a make shift record label. Current Music: Chris Lee "Thom's Bells" |

Howdy
Some guy named Mauricio came by to look at my pickup that has been sitting behind the house for a year and a half. When I told my father about the unexpected visit this is what he had to say. "Mexicans like toyotas". In other news I will be interviewing Peter Gannon who is the guitar player for Calla. The interview will come on my only day off from work next week. I'm so very sorry
I made this entry just to let everybody know that I dont know what my future holds and right now it's definately not music. Not so long ago i finished talking to a long time friend and we pretty much came to an agreement that nothing was going to happen as far as music goes (since in this town it's easier to find a whole bunch of posers than a group of real musicicans). Sorry for having failed you man and hope all the best for you in the future. I'm becoming more and more upset and i dont know what to do. Hope you understand that there might not be any more entries in here in the near future. all the best, Chris Current Mood: determinedCurrent Music: Pete Yorn "Dont let it go to your head" |

(loss of) Credibility
I think that will be the title of something I just suprisingly wrote. I haven't written too much lately but anyways... I will be attending CCC next school year (2005-2006). WOO!!! I'm really excited. I will be majoring in vocal performance. There is not much else new to be known about me. Take care and have a nice weekend. all the best, Chris Current Mood: sadCurrent Music: Elliott Smith "Coast To Coast" |

Why is the best man still alone?
I wonder where my life will lead me these days. I have alot to look forward to but with everything coming to an end so fast makes many things really difficult. I have been really upset lately over a decision concerning my bro'. I just cant believe he may be giving up something he has loved so much for many many years of his life... On a side note the upcoming election is very important for those of you that are registered you need to go to your local voting precinct and vote. It will be the tightest race in history as it appears (much tighter than the bush and gore 2000 election). So please vote carefully and with reason. Hope everybody takes care of themselves. Hey I'm back for a little while.
I'm sure you are all excited. This last Saturday was great. When I was walking up to the Sokol I saw the lead singer from Radio 4 so I went up to him to shake his hand. He asked me something but my mind was wandering off somewhere else so I did not reply. He came back during the show and started to talking to me in general. What a great guy. I swore he had five beers that hour. That's probably why they didn't play their hit song "Save Your City" and most likely why their set was only 10 songs. I was really saddened to see the opening band. I nearly got up and left. The singer cant do anything but scream to be popular and it just made me really sad. And he was really cocky too. He acted like they were the whole show and at the end of their set he was telling people not to leave even though they were not going to. Suprisingly half of the crowd departred. What is the world coming to these days. At the time of the set this one dude came from behind and he was really drunk. He started dancing amazingly well and he was soooo crazy. Anyways the band that came with Radio 4 (The Golden Republic) to my suprise actually plays with Sondre when he tours as the backing band for when he is singing. I never really knew that. Aww the opportunities that I miss. Current Music: Stephen Malkmus "Vanessa From Queens" |

We dont talk anymore than we have to...
Before I left for Lincoln I was hitting some baseballs with friends from work and people that I used to know. Being a spindly infielder hitting is not my main thing it's defense but I often show an ocassional suprise. I've been to alot of places lately. Got back sunday from a wonderful trip to Lincoln. While I was there I stayed with my older brother Shawn. He took me to this big mall there and got some new clothes which was pretty cool. We also went boating with his dear friend Ryan. It was a first time for me... I picked up some new cd's. Matthew Jay and his cd "Draw" stood out the most along side The Smiths cd "meat is murder". I was visiting with my brother Jon sunday as well. He just got settled into Peru where he is attending this year to play baseball ( plays catcher "lol"). I came home to an email from Chris. It was sent in a real timely fashion. I was so suprised. He asked me for some recommendations and he gave me some of his. Anyways for open lunch monday Brad from work joined me for lunch at Subway . We were talking over some ideas my brother proposed about some anti Bush t-shirts. One of the ideas has a picture of Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bush and he wants the letters to bare "Asses Of Evil". I got to talking with Pete today and we somehow got started talking about Gin and I thought asking him about teaching how to play would be a good idea. In return he lost his patience with me. I feel awful "lol". |

That is where she gets her name...
My life has been pretty boring lately. I'm always working or writing lyrics that I have no one around to share with. Went to Bogey's the other day to pick up the new Secret Machines album. I was furious. I mean furious. They did not have the album in stock so i had to wait 4 days to get the thing since there was no good cd's being released and there was sluggish sales from the pop catalogue. Anyways it's a really good cd and must listen for anybody that has ever liked Interpol. They (The Secret Machines) would be a perfect substitute for Interpol if they (Interpol) ever turned sour or you got burned out on them. The Secret Machines are definately a band that will be less appreciated today than they will be tomorrow. I just learned the other day the Radio 4 will be playing at the Sokol on September 25 which is a Saturday. There has been some invalid reports on who the main act will be. NME did not list that The Libertines would be playing on September 25th but it listed on Radio 4's mailing list that they would be supporting The Libertines. That's crazy to think that these two great bands would share a stage together in such a small venue. Let's hope I dont get cut in front of by girls that are wearing high heels. School starts tuesday. God bless |

Organizing a show...
Most of you know that I have been organizing a future music show/mini festival.Anyways when putting on a show there are some bands that email you and want in on a gig. Some of the bands that have emailed me include Fumescrew which is a pop/rock outfit from Omaha, 3 Day Meat Sale, Singer/Songwriters Oliver and Chris Bowling, and also My Raging Mind. I have not emailed any of these bands back as of yet.Bands that are confirmed to be playing here include(not going to name any Columbus bands yet) Burning From Where We Stand from Tecumseh. They describe their sound is most like Alexisonfire. Also 0 for 7 a.k.a. 047 from Auburn will be coming in with the sounds of The Starting Line meets Rufio. And the main attractions The Kyle Harvey Band and Little Brazil. Many of you people know the lead singer of Little Brazil who is best known as the bassist of Desaparecidos. They might also be packing along their current drummer Corey Browman (Son,Ambulance)but I heard from a source close to Landon that they are looking for a new drummer since their drummer tours with Son, Ambulance as their drummer. Also The Kyle Harvey Band will be packing the sounds of Mogwai meets Radiohead. |

Learned something new and saw some old familiar faces
Yesterday I heard from someone that my baseball coach was sitting in jail for tying his pregnant girlfriend to a chair. That is really sad and degrading to me. He also lied to the players on his team and his former employer about being gone one week to tend to his girlfriend who was supposed to have had his baby but then he lied about that because the baby is still yet to be born. Instead of tending to his girlfriend he was sitting in a jail cell and he couldn't get out. As you can tell I'm not a big fan of this guy. He made alot of questionable moves this season that left me and some selective teammates in doubt. Anyways... while I was at WalMart I kind of got depressed since I saw an old friend for the first time since he got in a really bad car accident just a couple of weeks after school was out. I really dont know what to think of him anymore. The kid was great and he would go out of his way for anyone. There were not many people like him. But of course people make bad decisions every once in a while... |

woohoo
Yay I just got a live journal account. I'm not sure how faithful I will be with keeping this thing up but hopefully it works out for the best. I went over to Dico's today to recieve a check but the old hairy guy was gone so he got out of paying me today. I got this flyer to put up at the local music store. Thanks for doing the flyer Ian. He did a great job. The line at the very bottom is tighter than anything I have ever seen this year. I got some strings at the local music store while i was there to restring my taylor acoustic. I've been getting used to reading tabs lately so hopefully I might be able to resurrect some songs that were over looked. Here are a few examples: "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" by Coldplay, "You Know So Well" by Sondre Lerche, "Burrito" by Pete Yorn and "Love Viration" by Josh Rouse. Went to Bogey's (the local catalogue music store) to get Beck's older album "Odelay" which i had to order obviously because there selection is very bare then went back home. I kind of got lost and was not feeling well so I went to rest and ended up not going to meet my friend at 4 and missing out on my cousins going away party. My cousin will be going to Fort Riley tomorrow for training. |
